Step 1

Understand the concept of a Master Shape. The first shape you select becomes the Master Shape, and all other shapes align according to it. For example, if you select two shapes, the first one becomes the reference point for alignment. Master Shape concept

Step 2

Align objects using the alignment features. To align three objects at the top of a line, make the line your Master Shape. Align objects

Step 3

Select the other two objects and top align them. Align left or center

Step 4

Align objects to the left or center. Select the line as the Master Shape and align accordingly. Spacing tab

Step 5

Use keyboard shortcuts for alignment. For instance, the shortcut for Align Middle is ‘am’. Hold the ‘A’ key and press ‘M’.

Step 6

Distribute objects horizontally using the spacing features. Go to the Spacing tab. Top align objects

Click the Distribute Horizontal button. Distribute Horizontal

Step 8

Adjust horizontal spacing. Select the objects and increase or decrease their spacing as needed. Swap Shapes Make Same Size

Step 9

Distribute objects vertically using the Distribute Vertical option. Adjust horizontal spacing

Step 10

Resize objects to make them uniform. Use the Make Same Width feature to make three rectangles the same width. Distribute Vertical

Step 11

Swap two shapes using the Swap Shapes feature. Make Same Width

Step 12

Make two shapes the same size, both height and width, using the Make Same Size option. Adjust horizontal spacing
