# Align space and size shapes

# Align, space, and size shapes

1. Open the deck in PowerPoint, select the shapes to format, and open Slidely **Format** tools.
2. In **Align**, choose left, right, center, top, middle, or bottom. Check the selected objects and their reference before applying the action.
3. In **Make shapes same**, choose the dimension that needs to match.
4. In **Spacing**, distribute the objects horizontally or vertically, or adjust their gaps.
5. Use **Shapes** to swap selected shapes or move them forward or backward.

This tool is specific to the PowerPoint add-in; it does not appear in the web workspace. The [visual tutorial](../legacy/formatting-alignment-tools.md) includes a worked alignment and spacing example. Try changes on a duplicate slide when the layout is complex.
